About the Founder
James Janega is founder and Managing Partner at Growth Innovation Strategy Group. A long-time thought leader in innovation and strategy, he has worked in industry and as a trusted advisor to growing firms, functional leaders, and investors. He’s helped revitalize underperforming businesses, developed and launched new product and service platforms, and guided and aligned leadership teams around strategic and innovation capabilties that deliver competitive edge. He also developed the AI-powered TRENDWISE scenario engine, and has a certificate in AI management through the MIT Sloan School of Managment/Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory.
In addition to his consulting work, James is an Adjunct Professor of Innovation Leadership and custom leadership programming at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, where he earned an MBA. A former journalist, he also has an MA in government and political reporting from the University of Illinois at Springfield.
When not teaching or consulting, Janega’s interests include laughing with his wife and their two children, exploring the outdoors, racing in Ironman triathlons, and performing jazz music.
